It was such nice weather on Saturday but I stayed at home because I had a stomachache;; Besides I didn’t know that I had to book a tour for looking around the Hearts FC stadium. -_-; So when I came back home, I just lay on the bed and dived into sleep for 3 hours.
This is Hearts FC stadium. It was looks a little bit shabby and smaller then I expected. I wanted to see the inside of the stadium but I couldn’t.
Fortunately today’s weather is not bad and my stomachache has gone so I went out somewhere. The first place was the Merchant’s Hall in Hanover Street. Inside the hall it is extremely luxurious and formal. I don’t know about interior styles but the roof was beautiful indeed. I also went to the 2nd floor and there was another beautiful room with many portraits. I thought the portraits in that room must be famous Scots because one of the portraits was Queen Mary.
Than I moved to the Photography Society. The building of the society isn’t a historic building but there are small exhibitions by the members and a lecture about sports photos. The man who guided the visitors at the door was interested about my film camera and he questioned me as to whether I would like to join the society. haha Maybe I won’t join the photography society but I appreciated his kindly question. Also the lecture on sports photos was interesting and I even understood a small part of the lecture – It was a lecture based on digital cameras and there were many sports players who I did’t know about.
However, I have used my film camera for 10 years and photos by film camera are still better than a digital camera in my eyes. The photos by film camera have a subtle sense of color and feeling and I love that feeling. Also I like the shutter sound of my film camera.
When I arrived in Calton Hill, the sky was cloudy but there were just a few people even though it was Sunday. Calton Hill was very peaceful and beautiful and I could see a view of Edinburgh. I want to go to Calton Hill when the weather is sunny. Also it must be great to look at the sunset on the Calton Hill apart from the strong wind;;
The last place I visted is the Dovecot studio which is a tapestry gallery and cafe. I could see some tapestry works and a huge studio. I know tapestry is an artistic wall fabric but works in the Dovecot look like a beautiful rug or carpet.
And I found two funny things on the way. The little cute fairy doll stood in front the door. I saw the doll while I was just passing by. Somehow, it will move around at night ^^. Another funny thing is the red vintage wedding bus! I never imagined a wedding bus but there was a vintage second floor bus. I saw a vintage classic wedding car in Heidelberg but it seems really one of the unique and funny things about UK culture.
