I had wanted to go to the sea here. Last week, I heard about a certain beach from Yunyoung and I really wanted to go there but she didn’t know where it is. After then, I found out where it is while in Tom’s class in my school. A photo of the Bass Rock which Tom showed to us was the same as Yunyoung’s photo, so I found the small town like that – North Berwick.

These days, the daytime is getting shorter every day so I thought I should go soon if I want to go somewhere. Above all, I haven’t been outside of Edinburgh until now. Therefore, I travelled to North Berwick with my wife today. Woke up early, had brunch, prepared some sandwiches to take away and finally went out to catch the no. 124 bus at Haymarket. The bus fare was £6.70 per person including a return ticket and it took 1 and half hours to get there. I could see the beautiful outskirts of Edinburgh and some small towns on the way. There were wide green fields and many pretty houses. In addition, it was the first time that I had sat on the second deck of a bus here. I see a double deck bus every day but I haven’t been on second deck yet because I always go and come to school on foot. A change of view is always exciting and I liked the second deck of the bus as soon as I sat down.

After a pleasant journey, I arrived at North Berwick which is a small harbor town. There are two golf course beside the sea, and the small harbor. The town is very calm and quiet but many people came to see the beautiful beach. I went to the east end of the beach because there is small hill which is a good place to see the landscape of the beach. Also there is a golf course which is located beside the beach. I sat on a bench on the hill with my wife and ate the sandwich which I had prepared in the morning. The weather was really nice and the sky was clear but the wind on the hill was a little bit cold, so after we had eaten the sandwich, we walked down to the beach alongside the golf course.

Many people was walking along the beach with their dogs or their children. They seemed happy and also we were happy. We walked along the beach whilst looking around at the sea. I watched the waves for a few minutes and took some pictures. We spent some time on the beach for a while and headed to the high street because the wind was getting cold. Besides, I wanted to drink a cup of coffee before we left. We walked into a proper cafe on the high street and enjoyed a cup of coffee. It tasted good and we could get some warmth back into our bodies. We stayed there till we need to leave North Berwick. When we got on the bus, the sun had already set so the sky was soon dark. However, today is Bonfire’s night and Fabri and Carolina invited me to see some fireworks on Calton Hill yesterday. So I got off the bus on George Street and went to Calton Hill with my wife. I could see the fireworks here and there of Edinburgh for a while. I was surprised because I could see the fireworks at many places over the city. Anyway, I couldn’t find any friends because Calton Hill was so dark and there were a lot of people there. In addition to that, we were tired and cold so we headed back to my flat after a wille.

It was a long day but I was so glad to have the pleasant journey. Our next destination is St. Andrews. I hope I can travel to there soon and visit many great places in the UK.
